the lizzie fund

LizzieSF Background

Those of us who loved Lizzie know she was the boldest and brightest champion for SeriousFun Children’s Network. Faithfully by Paul’s side from the start of the very first camp, Liz was a founding member of The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Ashford, CT, and she was instrumental in the establishment of the first SeriousFun camp in Europe, Barretstown in Ireland.

For 35 years, she campaigned, advocated, cajoled, and even twisted some arms to support SeriousFun Children's Network and the lasting impact its programs make in the lives of hundreds of thousands of children across the world.

Like her good friend Paul, Lizzie always saw possibilities where others saw problems. She encouraged all of us to invent clever solutions to address both existing and emerging challenges in the lives of children and families everywhere.

We know she would be proud of the Lizzie Fund which has been created to help SeriousFun serve more children in new and innovative ways - - in true Lizzie fashion.

“From that day back in the summer of 1988, I knew then that the camps would be a statement of people’s generosity.” – Paul Newman
